carloop’s recent sold price report
The recent sold price report allows consumers to check if they are getting a good deal on their new car.
The industry is well known for “opaque” pricing (see AFR’s reporting of the ACCC report, 2019). We have all been at the dealers when buying a new car and are unsure if we are getting the good deal for the car. We also have no interest in spend weekends on end negotiating with multiple dealers to get the best deal.
carloop has taken the legwork out of the process for you. Our Recent Sold Price Report compares your quote to what other owners of the same car have paid. This is a collection of data fromm new car buyers all over Australia. It provides you insight as to where you stand in negotiating; giving you with a benchmark for negotiation on actual prices paid.
What made you decide to implement this as a core carloop product?
The Recent Sold Price Report was on the back of many requests that we received from carloop customers. Our community, upon receiving their free sold price report, embarked on their negotiating journey. After going to many dealerships, they would come back to us with a price and say, “hey, what do you think, is this a good deal?”.
It made sense that we implemented a product that provided confidence to consumers for the next stage of the new car buying process.
Where are you sourcing these prices from?
At the moment, we get the bulk of our prices from other owners of the car around Australia.
We now have a large database that allows us to compare your deal with what others have paid which also includes any specific options that you may be considering.
It’s a very personalized comparison of your deal to ensure you’re comparing apples with apples.
What does this cost for new car buyers?
We are starting out by offering it to car buyers at $19 per report. Our customers whom have used this report have saved between one to two thousand dollars on average.
Using our report, consumers can go to different dealers to achieve a better price than what they are originally offered.
